Your Estate

Looking INto the future

When your family's future is at stake, make sure you have the best team in place to care for the entire scope of your family's wealth concerns.

In addition to providing sound financial guidance, we have assembled peripheral experts in order to ensure a fully integrated approach that leaves no stone unturned.  Your estate plan is augmented by specialized legal, financial, and tax advice, all fundamental components of your complete financial plan.

Estate strategies provide for your loved ones

Your estate plan sets out how you want your assets distributed after your death, so that your beneficiaries receive the greatest benefit possible. It also helps ensure that your specific wishes for your estate are carried out.  There are many different strategies and tools that we employ when creating estate plans for clients, dependent upon the nature of their specific situation.

Trusts

A very common and beneficial tool in estate planning is a Trust.  Trusts can be a bit complicated by nature, particularly in how they're structured. If not created correctly, a Trust can be rendered ineffective. For that reason, we rely on our legal experts Jeffory M. Borkowski and Kimberly J. Law, Barristers and Solicitors, Hamilton Duncan Armstrong + Stewart Law Corporation

These professionals lend their expertise in the areas of tax (domestic and international), estate planning, trusts, charities, charitable giving, pensions, and other employment benefits and related litigation.  They have consistently provided our clients with superior advice and formal estate and trust arrangements. They relate in laymen's terms, so our clients understand exactly what's involved.

Trusts can be used:

  • for income splitting purposes
  • to provide an income for your spouse
  • for the care and maintenance of children
  • to preserve estate property
  • to retain control over assets
  • to distribute capital in the manner you determine

We can help you create an effective estate plan, decrease your tax bill, and provide for the efficient transfer of your wealth to future generations. Email or call us today at 604-575-6911 (toll free 1-866-575-6911).

What is a Notary? And why might your family need one?

Notaries are legal officers with specific judicial authority, appointed under authority of law with power to prepare and administer wills, powers of attorney, mortgages, and other legal documents.  Of course Notaries do much more than that, but these are the issues that we most often call upon our Notary Public to assist our clients with.

We have chosen to partner with Trish Fedewich, B.Comm., Notary Public, Fedewich & Witt in Cloverdale. This family business has been serving our community since 1978 and provide an invaluable service for our clients.

Is Your Estate Plan Complete?   Have you a Will and Power of Attorney?

You've worked hard all your life, and accumulated significant wealth.  Be sure you pass on your assets to your heirs in the manner you desire.  Your Will and Power of Attorney are very crucial components of your Estate Plan.  If you don't have these documents in place, we should talk.
